Neighbourhood Amenities
John Hendry is one of Vancouver East’s best parks, featuring the beautiful Trout Lake and Trout Lake Community Centre both serve as gathering places for the local community. The Trout Lake Farmer’s Market operates from Spring to Fall every year. During the summer months, people migrate to John Hendry Park to spend the day playing volleyball, soccer, badminton, frisbee, or just have a relaxing picnic. Its open fields and communal feel creates an environment where you can meet new people who have shared interests in recreational sports. Trout Lake Community Centre has something for everyone including a fitness centre and an ice rink; it offers great programs for families, young professionals, children and seniors.
Along Kingsway, near Victoria Dr, is Little Saigon. It is a micro-cultural neighbourhood with authentic vietnamese restaurants, pho, cafes and bakeries serving traditional banh-mi. It is a great place to explore the Vietnamese sub-community.
